Playing With Lines and White Balance

These three were done using WB shade F5.6 and ISO 200.

(first two were 1/200 last one 1/800)

This one my WB was Auto and my settings were 1/800 F5.6 ISO200. I was trying to use the pole he's sitting on to draw you up to him but I think my Depth of Field is off! OMG its always something!!

The Snow Is Falling.....

These three are Center Weighted Metering 1/250 F11 ISO 200

This one is Center Weighted Metering 1/125 F11 ISO 200

Wanted to capture the snow falling but somehow the last photo isn't on the right settings for that. Must have just been focusing too much on the light meter!

....Now They Can Play!

These two are focusing on the foreground. It was a cool pattern on the pavers and I wanted to see if I could capture it with him. I think I could have done better, but also think I'm doing it all right so whats going on?? Grrr...I WILL get this!!!

Settings are on Spot metering 1/160, F11, ISO 100 (which was prolly the problem!!)

Same settings here.

Again Spot metering, 1/250, F 7.1, ISO 100

So once again I feel that I could have done things differently. I wish there was a way I could tell if my pictures are not gonna turn out the way I see them!

Field Day!

Shallow Depth of Field
Different views from a Jungle Gym

Action pictures!

Deep Depth of Field

And Portraits!!

It was a cold hour and a half outside today but we got to really play with our settings and catch some really different shots! I'm really happy with how my depth of field pictures are turning out and LOVE the fact that I may be able to take some great portraits!! In the next few weeks to come we are really gonna learn how to take better pictures!

Aperture!!

Yikes...its here....learning Aperture! I'm nervous, but I think I'm getting it, just have to remember it all!

Ok today I headed off to my favorite spot to take pictures, (see below), but so did two other cars. So I had to pick another spot.

(above picture taken Dec. 2010)

Here's the spot that had to work for today. Just down the road from my spot, with the same mountains in the background.

My settings are M 1/60 F20 ISO 100 at 35MM.
Trying to capture deep depth of field.

Again deep depth of field with same settings but at 40MM.

These pictures are me capturing my shallow depth of field.

M 1/400 F8 ISO 100 at 45 MM(on both pictures)
This one of the weed turned out super cool I think because I did it on purpose! It makes me happy that I can repeat this shot over and over! Settings are

M 1/320 F5.6 ISO100 at 52MM

Kids Birthday Party!

For some reason I cannot get my shutter speed higher than 1/200!! Its frustrating, but I think these pictures turned out better than they would have been if I was on Manual. And I had to use the flash a lot during the party, which again I'm not happy about. UGH...one day I'll get it right!

S 1/200 ISO 200 was the setting on these pictures.
